Air Lift Single Path Load Controller II is Great Addition

November 28th, 2009

Air Lift makes many kits for many different makes and models. In-fact they make there Air Lift 1000 Kit for just about all coil spring vehicles with an air suspension system. They have become a common solution for old saggy suspensions, as well as being a common upgrade for anyone who tows much with there vehicle. Air Lift makes a Controller now for there Air Lift 1000 Kits. These controllers give you the ability to level your vehicle front to back, so you can adjust the firmness of your ride as well. The best part is without this kit you would have to get out of your vehicle to add or remove pressure from the bags. But with an onboard compressor, you can adjust the bags on the go, staying inside your vehicle. These kits come with a couple pressure gauges and a switch pod. The gauges are nice for monitoring, and noting what pressures you like for what types of driving. The system is less than $200 and install is not a problem. The Air Lift Single Path Load Controller 2 is a great addition to any Air Lift 1000 kit.

89-98 Suzuki Sidekick Air Lift 1000

November 25th, 2009

So we have all heard of the Air Lift 1000, for whatever vehicle, as they have them for almost everything. I just wanted to share another successful story. I installed one on my neighbors 92 Suzuki Sidekick. The kit added alot of towing ability to the vehicle, which is nice as my neighbor haul a small trailer occasionally. She said it handles alot better with the bags, and she likes how the rear bumper doesn’t sit so low now. The kit was less than $100, and the install took me about half an hour. And the best part is it came with a lifetime warranty, so I really had nothing to worry about. Well worth the time and money. For more info check out the link below for more info including a how to install video.

04-08 Nissan Titan Rear Suspension To Soft For Heavy Loads Helper Bag Kit

November 21st, 2009

If you have a 04-08 Nissan Titan, and just aren’t happy with the payload, and the way it squats down in the rear alot under load, I have a solution to tell you about. The Titan is meant to have a softer suspension as it is kind of a luxury truck, and its only a half ton. One solution to this payload problem would be to add an extra leaf spring. But then your suspension will be stiff all the time. What if you want to have a nice smooth riding truck when your not hauling anything, but then be able to increase your load by 2000lbs when needed. Well you can, the solution is a simple helper air bag system which will go from the top of your leaf springs to the frame. When filled the bag will make the rear stiffer and firmer for heavy loads, but when the air in the bags is reduced the ride becomes smooth. So if you want to be able to haul that extra load, and be able to enjoy your factory ride as well, this kit is a good choice for you. For the cheapest price, click below.

How to make 87-99 Mitsubishi Montero Sport Handle and Ride Better

November 19th, 2009

The 88 Mitsubishi Montero Sport does not handle the greatest from the factory. They are actually pretty sloppy driving cars. Especially if you put a load on them. I struggled with this problem for a little while with my 95, in hopes of getting a bigger truck. But with cash being tight right now, I knew I wouldn’t be getting a new truck anytime soon, so I looked for another solution. Likely I stumbled upon a promising option. It is a kit that will make your suspension active. It puts tension on the spring, like a shock absorber. So that the spring moves in more of a controlled motion. In return means more stable handling, and less sway. This is a necessity if you want to haul anything with your Montero. I bought mine from  this website, as they had the best price, and nicest product. The item shipped promptly, and I was able to install in my garage after work in just one night.

95-99 Mercedes S55 Rear Coil Spring Kit

November 17th, 2009

So you may have heard of coil spring conversion kits being used to avoid air suspension problems. Usually they are put on older luxury cars, but you can also get them for higher end cars to. For example I installed one just a couple days ago on a 97 Mercedes S55. The car was beginning to have some air suspension issues were the rear of the vehicle would lower down sometimes and get stiff sometimes. So my customer came to my shop asking about what he could do to fix it. With the economy being the way it is, he asked me if there was any cheap solutions.

I told him about air suspension conversion kits. And explained that coil springs are probably the most popular suspension you will find on the road today. And in fact air suspension systems are really just over engineered, and really unnecessary. So he decided that a coil spring conversion kit, may be a good route for him. He asked me to price it out for him, and let him know. When I told him that parts would be less than $400 and I could go ahead and install it for an additional $150, he told me to go ahead and order it. I found out that this is where you Order the Parts  . That site had the cheapest price around, and a good reputation for customer service and quick shipping.

The parts came pretty quick, and the install was super easy. Most importantly my customer was very satisfied. He said the car drives just as good as it did with the air suspensions system.

90-93 Infiniti Q45 Coil Spring Conversion Kit - Get Rid of Air Bag System

November 15th, 2009

I have a 1991 Infiniti Q45 about 2 weeks ago, my rear airbags went out. I knew the air system was starting to have some problems for a while. Sometimes the car would ride real low and sometimes it would ride real firm. But anyways the rear went out, I limped it back to the house. Luckily we have a spare vehicle I could drive while I repaired my Q45. I started calling around to shops, to find out what my problem was. Most told me that they would have to see it to give me a quote, but most said it would be somewhere around $1600-$2000 to repair it.

I got on the internet to see if there was anything else I could do. As I dont have extra cash to be spending right now. I found an interesting solution that would basically replace my whole air suspension. It is a kit that will convert it to coil springs. Which everyone knows are far more reliable than air bag systems. So I called a few friends of mine that are into cars, and asked them if they thought it was as good of idea as I did. They agreed that it would be a good solution, thats sure to last.

I went ahead and ordered the 4 wheel kit, as I figured the front would be next to quit working on me. So I bought the kit for less than $800, and it included everything to converted my entire air suspension system to coil springs. They got my order to me quick and my brother and I installed them in a couple hours, and we were taking our time. And now my 93 Infinity Q45 is driving great once again. I recommend this Kit!

90-99 Looking To Improve The Ride and Handling Of Your Subaru Legacy

November 15th, 2009

If your legecy handles poorly and rides rough, it might be time to replace and/or upgrade your struts. A strut is a form of suspension that has a coil around it to support the weight of the vehicle. The strut acts as a shock absorber. When a strut becomes worn out, it becomes soft and fails to absorb impact the way it should, causing your vehicle to ride rough, bumpy, or loose. The handling will also be directly affected, as the vehicle will have alot of sway.

This was the problem with my 95 Subura Legacy. Struts can get very expensive, it is not hard to spend $1000. There are many good options out there. If you check around online, you can usually get alot better deal than when going into a shop. Then you can just bring the struts and your Legacy to a shop and have them put them on. Or you can install them yourself, if you have some tools and some time. They are a pretty easy and quick install.

But I bought my struts online, and installed them myself. It took me a few hours to install with the help of one of my friends, and we took our time. My 1995 Legacy handled and rode like new after the install. I was thrilled, it was well worth the money.

How To Fix Sloppy Steering and Handling On 98 to 03 Honda Accord

October 29th, 2009

So my 1999 Honda Accord was getting pretty sloppy in the corners. It doesn’t even have any firmness to it anymore, and therefore steers terribly. I looked for a solution to make it handle a litle firmer. I found a few different solutions. The best seemed to be a aftermarket strut of some sort. I did some research on what worked the best and what was most affordable. I found a strut few affordable struts, but after doing some research on quality I decieded to go with the EZ Strut. It shipped within a timely manner and was a pretty easy install to.

So after I installed them both. I took it for a ride around the block. And the differance was amazing. It rode like a new car, and handled amazingly. Deffinately a great upgrade, and deffinately affordable. Highly Reccomended!

1993 Mazda MPV Convert Rear to Non Air Suspension Coil Struts ( works on 89-98 )

October 28th, 2009

I own a small used car lot, and I bought a 1993 Mazda MPV about two months ago, to resale. It was a nice car. Ran and drove great. The only problem was that the rear air suspension was going out. I knew it was an expensive fix cause I have faced this problem in the past with other air suspension vehicles. I had also found a great solution for these problems. All I needed to do was replace the air suspension parts with coil struts. I got online to see if there was a kit for the Mazda MPV. After a little searching I found it, and for pretty cheap to. The parts shipped quickly and the install was super easy. At this point I had a fully functional MPV to sell. I listed it and sold it within a few days, for a nice profit. Anyways just wanted to share my opinion on these kits. Highly Recommended.

1995 to 2002 Range Rover 4 Wheel Coil Conversion Kit

October 23rd, 2009

I bought a 1995 Range Rover about 6 months back. The vehicle only had 72k miles on it, and was in great shape. The only catch was the air suspension system on the vehicle was shot, they told me the reason they were selling it was because the cost of repair was to much. I knew there had to be some other way to fix this problem. And the rest of the vehicle was in great shape, and ran wondrefully. So I set out to find a cheaper fix.

I went home and started searching the web. I found out that the factory air suspension was going to definitely cost a lot to fix, and there was no way around that. But I also found another interested solution. It is a kit that will complete replace your air bag system with coil springs. Of course that would be wonderful. There is pretty much no way a coil spring is going to give me any trouble, or at least its highly unlikely. It sounded like a great idea to me. I called a friend of mine who is a mechanic, and asked him what he thought. He said there was nothing wrong with it, and that it would definitely be a lot cheaper and more reliable fix.

So now I knew what I needed, I just had to figure out were to get it. I couldn’t really find any reasonably priced air suspension kits locally. So I searched the web, for sites that sell this kind of stuff. I found the cheapest one for my vehicle at Strut Masters.

I finnaly got the Range Rover I had wanted, and at a way cheaper price. I love these trucks though, because they are just built so solid, nothing is really cheap on them. And them come loaded with features. Pretty much the only part people have problems with is the factory air suspension system, so it kind of worked out that it needed to be replaced. The air suspension conversion was quite simple and quick.
