1989-1993 Chrysler Fifth Avenue Air Bag Suspension Conversion

1989-1993 Chrysler Fifth Avenue

The Chrysler Fifth Avenue is a good all around car. Except for one thing: the air suspension components. These parts are unreliable, and are very expensive to repair or replace. I recently repaired two Chrysler Fifth Avenue’s, a 1990 and a 1991. I replaced there air suspension systems with coil spring conversion kits, which eliminate your air system entirely. This solution will save you many hours of air suspension troubleshooting, as well as a lot of money in repairs.

These factory air suspension parts are very expensive to repair or replace. Air tanks, air pumps, air valves, and air control sensors are all very pricey parts that often will cost near as much as the car is worth, for example a ford explorer air strut costs around $500. These repairs are often well over $1000, but there is a simple solution. Both the Fifth Avenue’s I repaired would have cost at least $800 to repair the air suspension. And it still would not have been that great of a long term solution, as it would have only been a matter of time before another air component started acting up.

This simple solution will eliminate your Fifth Avenue Air Bag Suspension, and replace it with a coil spring conversion kit. These coil kits are much more reliable than air bags. Coil Springs have been around for a long time. Most cars run the stock coils throughout the whole life of the vehicle, without any problems. The best part is that you can convert the front and rear of your Fifth Avenue to coils for less than $600. If your sick of troubling with your air suspension, or just want a good reliable and safe suspension this kit is for you.
